At Central Baptist, we believe the good news of Jesus is not just something we hold onto, but something we are called to share.
Outreach and missions are part of who we are as a church. From supporting people in our local community to partnering with mission work around the world, we want to see lives impacted by the hope of the gospel.
Our Heart
Our desire is simple:
To love our neighbours in practical and meaningful ways
To support and encourage those serving in mission locally and overseas
To be generous with what God has given us
To pray faithfully for God’s work beyond our own context
We believe every person has a part to play — whether through giving, praying, serving, or going.
Global Mission
We partner with and support a number of mission organisations and individuals serving in different parts of the world. Through these partnerships, we are able to support leadership development, community outreach, education, and the sharing of the gospel in a wide range of contexts.
Local Outreach
We are committed to caring for people within our own church whānau and wider community.
One of the ways we do this is through our Sunday Sales Table, where fresh produce and goods are shared. This has become a simple but meaningful way to support those who may be doing it tough, while also raising funds for mission work.
It’s a great expression of generosity, community, and practical care.
Prayer
Prayer is central to our mission.
We gather regularly to hear updates, stay connected, and pray for those serving both locally and overseas. These times are an important way we stand alongside and support the work God is doing beyond our immediate community.
Generosity in Action
As a church, we have seen incredible generosity.
Initiatives like the Renew Together Appeal and ongoing giving through our community have helped provide meaningful financial support to mission partners, particularly in places where resources are limited.
Every contribution, big or small, plays a part in the bigger picture of what God is doing.
